CES 2020 has drawn the curtains on January 10^th in Las Vegas, USA. Over 4,500 exhibiting companies participated in this annual event, including over 1,200 innovative startups taking part in Eureka Park. With a soaring participation of 170,000 attendees for the conference program this year, CES has the reputation of being the global stage for showcasing business of consumer technologies and startup companies, introducing the latest innovations to the marketplace.

National Central University's Global Research & Industry Alliance (NCU GLORIA), along with startup teams, Skin Electric and Taiwan User-Friendly Sensor & Tech. Co. Ltd., exhibited at the Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA) Pavilion. NCU GLORIA is proud to give full support to the teams, where Taiwan User-Friendly Sensor and Tech. unveiled remarkable innovation, and received the Innovation Award with great honor.

Eureka Park is the startups center stage at CES. This year, over 1,200 startup teams came together, in showcasing their latest cutting-edge technologies or products, and attracted many investors and venture capital from all over the world in search of investment targets. This year, 80 startup companies, including Skin Electric and Taiwan User-Friendly Sensor & Tech. Co. Ltd. of National Central University, were selected to exhibit at the Taiwan Tech Arena Pavilion. Out of these ambitious teams that demonstrated unique and creative concepts, highlighting Taiwan’s startup viability, 13 of them received the CES 2020 Innovation Awards. As aforementioned, award honoree – Taiwan User-Friendly Sensor & Tech. Co. Ltd. – originally founded by Chen-Han Huang, Assistant Professor of the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Engineering from National Central University, presented the “IoT System for Food Allergen Detection,” and gained favor with the judges. National Central University’s startup teams are demonstrating extraordinary skills on the world stage, with more innovative technology and marketable solutions in the making.

NCU GLORIA is dedicated to strengthening global industry-academic collaborations and networking, with the primary focus of transforming National Central University’s inventive research and technology into marketable solutions through industrial matchmaking services. During CES, NCU GLORIA gave full support to the startup teams by providing marketing resources and engaging in on-site business consultation. Skin Electric, founded by Eric Chun-Ming Huang, Chair Professor of the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Engineering from National Central University, specializes in prebiotics and probiotics high throughput screening system, has drawn attention to popular consumer brands, such as P&G, Uniliver, and Amway. NCU GLORIA will continue to bridge the gap between startup teams and the industry, expecting to open up infinite possibilities in future collaborations.

CES 2020 has been more than a rewarding experience for NCU GLORIA. Eureka Park not only provided research teams the opportunity to step into the international market, but also offers a learning platform for marketing skills enhancement through inspecting the latest innovative trends and technological development. NCU GLORIA will carry on the long-standing endeavors in promoting National Central University’s technology capacity for industrial applications, pushing forward national and global industry-academic collaborations, and striving towards the flourishing of Taiwan’ up-and-coming innovations in the global market.
